October 5th, 2018 – A publication for Canadian doctors has a lot of good things to say about how Quinte West has attracted physicians to the city.
In an article in The Medical Post entitled “Dreamville Canada”, the municipality was named one of the 7 friendliest places in small town Canada to practice medicine. It included a report on the results of contacts staff made with doctor recruiters across the country, and the city was one of the communities that came in for praise.
It referred to the $100,000 bursary for opening a full-time practice with a five year commitment, plus grants for continuing education, programs for spousal employment support, housing assistance and a new state-of-the-art clinic.
The Medical Post also found housing in Quinte West was particularly affordable, with an average home price of less than $300,000.
Other attractions include the large number of waterfront properties, along with four nearby provincial parks.
